Editing

Today we continued our filming by doing a voiceover. I was the one doing the voiceover and it was hard to make sure the voiceover was not too long or short. We made a voiceover for each building and for the intro and outro. The noises around us made the voiceover a second or longer, but we plan to edit it out.  Then we started the editing process. During the editing process, I helped to edit the commercial and help pick the inserts. I looked up inserts online of the courtroom and the dance team. The inserts helped us to show the part of the school we were not able to film. I also had inserts of the band to show the band and the instrument that may be available. The inserts were not hard to find because they were all online.

We began to dump our footage on the computer. We started with building four and there we had to cut most of the footage. Some of the footage was kept and a pan was used to transition to building 17. I started to help with editing the footage. Some of the footage was hard to edit because it would make it too long. There were also some transitions used like cross dissolves. There were also some others like open circles. The editing was harder than I thought because we had to cut some of the footage to make it shorter. We had a ten-second clip that was edited down to four seconds. We ended up finding the needed footage.

We figured out a way to fix this by inserting the clips. This helped to make it longer. We needed a way to edit the footage without cutting out all of the useful footage. We used a pan to transition to the next building. I think it was a good transition to show the next building. These transitions helped to make the clips that were short longer. Even though there were really some bumps, I think we are off to a good start. Next class, we plan to put more transitions and to edit it more. We also plan to fix the order of the buildings, so the commercial flows better.  We will then export it when we are done.
